| Vietnam Expo 2010 Great Opportunity for Investment |

According to the organizers, Vietnam Expo 2009 comprised 520 stalls of 480 companies from 14 countries and territories displaying their products. It attracted 48,000 visitors 28,000 of whom were businessmen. In Vietnam Expo 2009, 526 agreements on commercial cooperation and investment with total capital of US$1 billion were inked. Survey statistics shown that 90 percent of businesses participating Vietnam Expo 2009 felt satisfied with the exhibition, 80 percent of them gained remarkable achievements, 98 percent wished to take part in Vietnam Expo 2010.
Vietnam Expo 2010 is held in the context of economic recovery from the downturn; therefore, it is vigorously responded by domestic and international businesses. 400 businesses from 17 countries and territories including America, Russia, China, Japan, Korea, Czech Republic and Cuba… have registered to take part in the exhibition. 700 stalls (34.6 percent more than Vietnam Expo 2009) are rented by both domestic and international businesses. A great deal of agro-forestry and aquatic products, food, wooden products, furniture, craft products, garment products, leather and footwear, electric, mechanic products, construction materials and commercial services will be displayed in the exhibition. They are all Vietnamese advantageous products. The Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Thanh Bien said that Vietnam Expo 2010 is the largest scaled exhibition of Vietnam in 2010. Recently, Vietnam Expo has made a significant contribution to commercial promotion and Vietnamese product advertising in both domestic and international market. Vietnam Expo is also thought of as a bridge between Vietnamese and international producers and distributors. This year, Vietnam holds the position of ASEAN Chairman. Numerous great events concerning commercial and investment cooperation and economic development which are oriented to ASEAN Community in 2015 are taking place. Tax on many products will be reduced or eliminated within the framework of the ASEAN Free Trade Area. Free trade agreements between ASEAN countries and strategic partners such as China, Korea, Australia, New Zealand and India are taking effect. Therefore 2010 is a very important year to Vietnamese commercial development. The Deputy Minister also said: "In this special context, Vietnam Expo 2010 will play an important role in strengthening international integration and trade liberalization within ASEAN region and between ASEAN countries with their partners. Most of ASEAN countries and their partners take part in Vietnam Expo 2010" The chief representative of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), Hiroyuki Moribe said: "Over past ten years, JERO has carried out a lot of trade promotion programs between Vietnam and Japan. In the framework of Vietnam Expo 2010, JETRO will work with Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (Vietrade) and Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) to organize an exhibition of Vietnamese craft products which are exported to Japan on April 14, 2010. 26 Japanese businesses that are intensive in Vietnamese craft products will be invited to take part in the exhibition and visit Vietnam Expo 2010." To support domestic businesses, related organizations and trade promotion centers to seek for business opportunity and strengthen investment cooperation, the organizers pay a special attention to propaganda through the mass media.
